Ingredients

The Dough
  • 6 Babybel cheese wheels wax removed
  • 65 grams All-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 100 grams Panko breadcrumbs for maximum crunch
Seasoning
  • 5 grams Garlic powder
  • 2 grams Dried oregano
  • 2 grams Salt
  • 1 grams Black pepper
  • Olive oil spray or cooking spray

Method

  1. Prep Station: Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with the beaten eggs, and one with the Panko mixed with all seasonings.
  2. Bread the Cheese: Dip a Babybel in flour (shake off excess), then in egg, and finally coat it in the seasoned Panko.
  3. The Double Coat: Dip the breaded Babybel back into the egg wash and then once more into the Panko. This creates a thick shell to prevent leaks.
  4. Freeze: Place the coated cheeses on a tray and freeze for 30–45 minutes. Essential step to stop the cheese from exploding!
  5. Air Fry: Pre-heat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Spray the basket and the cheese bites lightly with oil.
  6. Cook: Air fry for 5–7 minutes. Keep an eye on them; remove as soon as they turn golden brown.
  7. Serve: Serve immediately with your favorite dip (Marinara, Ranch, or even Hot Honey).

Notes

  • Pro Tip: If you see one starting to leak slightly in the air fryer, pull them out immediately! They are ready.
  • Spacing: Don't stack them. Leave space for the air to circulate so they get crispy on all sides.
  • Panko vs Normal Breadcrumbs: Use Panko! It gives a much better "viral" crunch than standard breadcrumbs.
