Ingredients
1sheet Puff Pastrystore-bought, chilled
6 to 8Mini Chocolate Bearssuch as Lindt Teddy or similar small chocolate bears
50gramsNutellafor the "pillows"
1 Egg
10gramsPowdered Sugarfor "snow" dusting
Small edible stars or sprinkles for decoration.Optional
Method
Prep: Preheat your oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut Pastry: Unroll your puff pastry sheet and cut it into 6 or 8 equal rectangles (depending on the size of your chocolate bears).
Create the Pillow: Place a small teaspoon of Nutella at the top center of each rectangle.
Tuck in the Bear: Place one chocolate bear on top of the Nutella "pillow."
The Blanket: Take a smaller scrap of puff pastry (or fold the bottom half of your rectangle upwards) and cover the bottom half of the bear, leaving his head and arms peeking out.
Seal: Use a fork to crimp the edges of the "blanket" to the "bed" so it stays secure while baking.
Egg Wash: Lightly brush the pastry (not the chocolate bear!) with beaten egg to get a golden finish.
Bake: Bake for 12β15 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.Note: If you are worried about the chocolate melting too much, you can bake the "beds" first and place the bears in halfway through, or simply accept the slightly "melty" cute look!
Finish: Once cooled slightly, dust with powdered sugar to look like snow.
